If your pet is anything like mine, she is ALWAYS watching me eat! Which then makes me feel sorry for her so I give her a nibble of table food. We strongly recommended not starting to feed from the table, but majority already have. There are certain food you MUST steer clear of, major consequences involved after ingesting said food. Most lead to secondary issues such as vomiting and diarrhea, which can lead to other major health issues.
Alcohol- can lead to intoxication, coma or possible death
Avocado (contains persin)- which can cause vomiting and/or diarrhea
Caffeine- toxic to heart and nervous system. can lead to vomiting and diarrhea
Chocolate- toxic to heart and nervous system, can possibly lead to death
Cooked bones- sharp points from splinted bones can lead to stomach/intestinal lacerations
Dairy- too much can cause diarrhea
Fatty Foods- too much can cause Pancreatitis
Grapes- will cause kidney failure
Medications (ex. Tylenol, Advil)- can lead to GI ulcers, kidney failure or death
Mushrooms- certain types can cause shock and possible death
Onions (or too much Garlic)- can cause blood cell damage and anemia
Raisins (Currants)- lead to kidney failure
Walnuts (Macadamia)- cause muscle damage and affect the nervous system
Xylitol (ex. Gum, Candy)- can lead to liver failure, hypoglycemia or death
